buried at home
do i exist?
i don’t want to be here
but i will be
bonded by a lie called love

try! try! try!
never to succeed
sabotage my dreams
i will still be here
bonded by a lie called love

punch me kick me
trample all over me
the world will never know
thinking i am happy
bonded by a lie called love

gasp! gasp! gasp!
no air, who cares?
never to see the sky again
cannot escape
bonded by a lie called love

“bonded by a lie called love” is an easy trap to get into but sooo hard a life, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Men, the stronger sex physically, will also stay in a bad, even unfaithfulness, marriages, because of that “bond.”

I agree. I have seen both men and women feel stuck and yet stay in bad marriages, at the expanse of their own sanity and for the benefit of keeping up pretenses to the world.

You wrote the song! It is sad but so many times we feel trapped in that lie of love, living out the motions. Very sad.

And often the love of children is the reason they stay – but are the children better of for it? Probably not if there is abuse involved.
