The lady out there at thotpurge is writing micropoetry all through November and I discovered this little form of poetry from her blog called the Cherita. The “Cherita” is a creation of ai li and it is a 6-line story-poem broken into 1,2,3 line stanzas.

I had so much fun writing it that I wrote many a Cherita. Hope you enjoy reading them too.

(1)
Silence

stretching
us apart

a small smile and
you are back
in my heart

(2)
accident

bedrest ordered
for a month

write poetry
about nature
through mind’s eye

(3)
depression

what is there
to be thankful for?

I woke up
this morning
to see the sunrise.

(4)
sleep

at what
cost?

no writing
no poetry
I’d rather not.

And here is one by the inventor of this form ai li himself. Sharing it cause it made me laugh!

the hush in a library

a fly
on the woman’s nose

to sneeze
or not
to sneeze

Linking up with thotpurge and sharing it at NanoPoblano(Day 5).

I loved all of these. My personal favourite is the first one, I really do associate smiles with the well-being of the heart, for me they are inseparable 🙂 I hope the accident wasn’t too serious or was imaginary for the purpose of the poem! I laughed at the one about the fly after your ones, I thought the woman was going to smack herself to try and swat the fly but there is something funny about her struggling not to sneeze in the huffiness of the library 😉
