a tiny hand with rose petal skin
cuddling the nape of my neck at the break of dawn

hearing the words I long to hear
for the first time

a moment to be
amidst the cacophony of life’s ceaseless bombardment

a tummy full
of yummy food

eyes reflecting miles of green
under a cover of neverending blue

sand for slippers and a hand to hold
under an umbrella of a billion stars and one full moon

a lone vermillion flower
in a sea of emerald

an everyday word with my mother
a tender hug with my father

a list of gratitude
a smile
a walk
some petrichor and tea.

A simple list poem for Poets United Midweek Motif : Happiness

I have exciting news to share. I have created an ebook derived from my AtoZChallenge theme Poetry for A Cause which will soon be available for your reading. Will update with details soon. Check out the preview of the cover of my ebook below.

Another gem. Happiness is indeed in small things, moments that turn into memories

    ‘a lone vermillion flower
    in a sea of emerald’
    and
    ‘some petrichor and tea’.

Oooo, love the cover of the new book.
And love the baby, the wait together, the hint of dialogue, the cumulation.
