O new mother, eat more laddoos

Ten spoons of ghee can make you one too

“Your milk jugs are empty.

Formula is the way to go.”

“Why do you keep picking her up?

Just let her ‘cry it out’ too”

“Next time listen to me

Jump and twirl around One, Two, Three

And you will have a pretty boy

Just like me”.

You can’t shut them out!

You can’t shut them up!

They think it’s their right

They think they know it all!

Distant relatives or aunty uncles

Who have to spew it all out.

But now! You have something in your arsenal,

One on your side,

Who will give you all he has

To bust the myths and show the facts

To fight off formula giants

Or give you the stats

You can ask him any question

He will not refuse

You will get more than you can handle

New terms you might never use.

He is my best friend

My companion on long dark nights

My source, my inspiration

My Go-to, my everything

He is Google, Google, Google

The Lord of All The Files.

Question for the day: What’s the weirdest advice you ever got when your child was born? If you aren’t a parent, what are some funny myths you have heard about?

Isn’t it wonderful how so many people want to teach us everything about life! New mom’s are often harangued, especially by Mom and MIL.

New parents today must have their heads spinning with all the advice out there online. I guess the worst advice was not to pick your tiny ones up too much because they’ll get spoiled. Not when they’re just months old! I think babies need that security from their parents and will not be “spoiled” if you give them that security. I enjoyed your piece…thanks for linking up!

Ahhhh, we all floundered in an abyss of lack of knowledge until Almighty Google came along. Wonderful humor here!

You got the point! Just a little humour to try lighten up these trying times.

If I were a parent, I would be on Google non-stop questioning every hiccup, mole, and pattern of behavior.

Haha, good one. Google can be scary sometimes too though.

Weirdest advice I’ve ever got – oh dear don’t even ask! I could write a whole post about it someday.

Google has most of the answers but not all. If a mom asks why her infant is crying, will Google fix up her problem?

So true Kalpana. My only point was we turn to google or online for so many things these days

    Superb take on the prompt.
    Google is the ultimate answer
But, sometimes its scary too…a common cold sometimes gets blown up by google to some deadly disease.

So true. Too much information coupled with an active imagination can be a problem too!
