My AtoZChallenge could never be complete if I don’t bring up Maya Angelou. I adore her poetry and love her style. Today, I have chosen to share a poem of hers that is not very well-known but it has definitely got my heart.

Artful pose Maya Angelou poem

and here is my inspired poem:

my story

I lay my deepest desires at your feet

and wish for it with all my heart,

but, universe! against me you plot!

throwing mammoth boulders at my face

placing Mt.Everest right in my way

However, when all is said and done,

whether I make it or not

the joke is never gonna be on me, because

I will have a greater story.

They say if you really wish for something with all your heart the universe conspires to provide you with your wish. But here the universe throws rocks and boulders and places Mt. Everest on the path. But by overcoming these hurdles we have a great story for the universe. Refreshingly different from the universe conspiring to give us what we want.
