It was hot summer afternoon. Pip, Bets, Daisy and Larry were playing a quiet game of cards when there was a loud knock on the door. The next moment, a man burst into Pip’s garage.

“Clear off, you young Ruffins”, he shouted in a rather loud voice wagging his newspaper at them.”Gah”.

The man wore colored glasses and had a rather pronounced mustache and beard. The children gaped at him.

Suddenly, much to everyone else astonishment Bets squealed with delight and ran into the man’s arms.

Fatty was the head of the Five Find-Outers. He enjoyed trying out elaborate disguises and used a lot of his rather handsome pocket money on it.

“Good old Bets. Clever Bets”, praised Fatty. Bets blushed.

“I was down at the station trying out my disguise and overhead something interesting. Huddle up, gang. We have a mystery on our hands!”

That was truly a delightful trip down memory lane….. fatty and the five find outers…. imagine calling the police man a goon. honestly Enid Blyton did have a warped sense of humour…. I can’t imagine how i ever thought kids could out do the cops…..

Nice! The Five Find-Outers are often underrated when compared to the Famous 5 or the Secret 7. Good take on an Enid Blyton creation, Namy
