I floated through a dream on cotton clouds

Butterflies rainbowed spiralling around

The chilling hand of frost crept up slowly

But the sun scooped me up, cradling, warming me

Until I awoke to this nightmare called reality

Its nails screeching deep ruts as penalty

Into every square inch of my skin

For here hope, love, my voice are sins.

Reality can be a bit of a nightmare but thankfully there is wine, poetry, cake and ice cream 😉 I felt the emotional content of this poem and genuinely felt cold by the frost, then warmed by the sun and then reality raking its nails down on me. I’m sure that your voice is not a sin though and one of your best qualities 🙂 Great poem.

I often awaken and lie there. Most of the time I do not remember my dreams. I prefer reality anyway to the dreams. But an interesting poem.

A nice twist on the nightmare or the reality?

One may be misconstrued or misunderstood but sincere intentions easily triumphed

In a world where the boundary between reality and fantasy is blurred, nice to see this write bring that boundary into sharp relief. Very thought provoking!

There are days when I dream a lot and others when it seemed like I don’t at all. And my insomnia is sometimes caused mainly cause of imagining too much to write.

That’s what I was going for. Sometimes we are better off when we are asleep and dreaming.

True for most people, unless they are in a very bad space in their lives

Dream world is always so sweet bit when we wake up to reality it is indeed a nightmare ad compared to our dream.
