What is ‘The Fib’?

No, no, it’s not a lie! Its a type of poetry using the syllable count according to the Fibonacci series. Let’s see my attempt at it first, before I show you how it works

My

first

love was

math, my new

found love poetry.

Juxtaposed together: ‘the fib’.

Ok. So, first off, the Fibonacci series goes something like this 1-1-2-3-5-8-13-21 and on and on until infinity. The only criteria for ‘the fib’ is that it has to follow this syllable count for its lines. It doesn’t matter how many lines are there, you can go on till you are comfortable.

Here is me having another go at it

I

want

to tell

you peppers,

Namratha is my

name, NaNoPoBlano is my

game, and November is the month to blog every day!

(1-1-2-3-5-8-13)

(I know this is a pretty lame attempt but I am still learning)

There even is a form which does an ascending-descending order of Fibonacci series in which the syllable count is like this (1-1-2-3-5-8-5-3-2-1-1).

Stringing Happiness

I

am

happy

when I am

writing, creating

visions stringing words together,

so I want to keep

on writing

till I

am

dead.

That’s all, folks! Nanopoblano Day 4!
