Tale Of A Woman’s Career

A sparkling river

springs its way through the seasons

polishing pebbles

deepening canyons.

A giggle-scented boulder of cuddles

with a taste of bliss

and a sense of duty

to stops the waters

in their tracks.

It lays down      its head       to one side

savor the beauty      at the pause.

Slowly           gathering more waters

to reach                                                  across                                           the boulder.

And on to the next scenery

carrying cuddles along

Many women, mostly at the mid of their career, leave their jobs. In India, research shows it is as high as 48%! There are many reasons that a woman leaves her job: kids, family commitments, insufficient support system, inflexible work are some on the list. Today, I wish to showcase the many companies that are doing their bit in helping women restart their careers.

JobsForHer, founded by a woman who restarted her career after a break, is a bangalore based company deals exclusively who want to return to the workforce.

Sheroes, which started out as a career portal for woman, has now evolved to a huge community support group for women.

Reboot, provide the necessary personal mentoring and reskilling support along with opportunities for women who are looking out for jobs to get back on the corporate ladder.

You will find a more comprehensive list of all the companies here.

And if you were wondering why a woman should work, visit one of my most popular posts to find out!

Do share this list with women who are trying to get back their foot in the door and get their careers flowing again.

For each letter this April, I shall be presenting a poem inspired by ‘something’ that is making our world a little bit kinder, a little bit greener. The ‘something’ is a mix of people, movements, thoughts, or organizations who are having a positive influence on the world around us. Read all the other posts in ‘Poetry For A Cause’ series by linking the button below.
