my mind

      not a straight line

                                       a curl,        a squiggle, then

                                       a tangent and               a plunge.

untamable.

This is my lament about the way my mind works. It strangely seems to have a mind of its own! I meticulously plan to do a certain work, and it decides to do something completely different. For example, this evening I had decided to work on my A-Z theme for 2018, and here I am writing a poem for dVerse Meeting the Bar! I was also supposed to go to bed sometime back:)

Frank Hubeny is hosting at dVerse and the theme is brevity with poems five lines or less.  There are no other constraints. Do join in or pop in for some fine poetry.

My mind is working more and more that way these days. It must be my creative mind, not my age…

As annoying as that can be, I think it’s better than being robotic and predictable. Thank goodness for a playful mind.

That is so different and yet so familiar, Namy. A great interpretation of the prompt!

I’m glad you got detoured temporarily to write this. I hope the A to Z challenge gets done. My mind seems untamable as well, but I hope the tangents and plunges are all for the best.

I have the same trouble sometimes, though I think it just comes with the territory of being an artistic, creative type of person.
