Life should be a mathematical equation

With one right answer to this question

Where do we go from here?

At that fork in the road where every mom reaches

Where left is right

And right is not wrong.

It tears me to pieces

To wave goodbye to my baby

To miss that important con call

Or skip another PTM

To pass up an opportunity to him

Without rhyme or reason.

The battle must be fought day and night

In the war where all decisions aren’t right

Irrespective of what we choose each day

To go to work or stay home all day

Where is that book with all the answers?

If you do find it, don’t you conceal it.

Question for the day: This poem was inspired by a mom who told me that each morning it tore her to pieces to leave her 1-year-old in daycare, but she couldn’t not work either. I know there are a lot of us around who don’t know if we have made the right decision at that fork. What’s the answer?

Very unique take. The war here is internal. Beautifully written. Cheers 🙂

Some questions in life have no set answers. We have to choose what works for us at that point of time.

There is indeed no right or wrong answer. It all depends on circumstances and choices. I also know new moms who go through the same dilemna.

Mind blowing post, Namy. I brought back my old memories as a working woman who left my son at 40 days. And I confess, not tried to control my tears rolling down. More power to your writing, Namy !!!

There’s never one right decision in most situations in life, I think. Each crossroad brings with it a different set of possibilities and options. There are some questions which have no instant answers, but they reveal themselves when time comes.
