(Most of the time, I know I am nice
I even let myself believe I mean a lot to you)

Most of the time, we soar together
like a bubble, shimmering rainbows under blue skies
a delight to behold

(but, how do I let go
of the fears inside of me
that voice that whispers on loop
That I am not enough
I will never be enough)

and then, the doubts begin to surface
like needles inside our bubble
deflating
grounding
annihilating.
‘Us’ no more.

I say,
grow comfort cushions
so we can land together

I say,
Build a trampoline trust-brick-by-trust-brick
So we can bounce back into blue skies.

I really like the last two lines, with the juxtaposition of building a trampoline out of bricks. Nice.
