Last year, during A-Z challenge I found my roots.
I found I loved to write. I loved to create worlds with my words. My blog transformed from being just an experiment for my other aspirations to a place where I wrote my heart out. Over the course of the year, I discovered poetry. Poetry is what I ‘really’ want to do, though I am a novice at rhythm, meter or form or metaphors, basically any formal poetry. But a wise soul told me, ‘Each person’s voice is unique. Just write like yourself.”. So, after much oscillation between various ideas that have crept up on me from the beginning of this year, I have decided to go with the theme of ‘Poetry for a Cause‘.Tune in this April @NamySaysSo for a healthy dose of inspiration with 'A-Z of Poetry for a Cause'… Click To Tweet
But what does that really mean? What is ‘Poetry for a Cause‘?
For each letter this April, I shall be presenting a poem inspired by ‘something’ that is making our world a little bit kinder, a little bit greener. The ‘something’ is a mix of people, movements, thoughts, or organizations who are having a positive influence on the world around us.
The poems shall have the intention to be impactful, and I shall be featuring that day’s inspiration as well. If you are inspired to look up the cause or use it as a prompt for your writing, you are welcome to do so.
I think best in free verse. I love spoken word poetry. But to spice things and challenge myself, I shall be attempting to write in as many poetic forms as possible.
Come join me this April as I dabble in poetry! Do leave a comment along with your site and theme under this post and I shall be sure to look it up. Looking forward to reading some diverse themes this year.
